STOP RUSH LIMBAUGH NOW!!
At this critical point in history, the Republican Party has become a hostage to the likes of Rush Limbaugh. The party has been unable to decide what to do; now it is as if the party has no free will and it must serve Limbaugh as if he were their slave master. It is pathetic that the Party of Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt has become a conduit for a pill-popping fringe political talk radio, loudmouth.
The congressional republicans by voting unanimously against the Obama stimulus bill have voted against America. They have voted against large tax cuts for the American middle-class, against repairing America’s infrastructure (roads, bridges, etc), all at the behest of Lord Limbaugh. It is sad that the congressional republicans have put politics before the interest of our great nation. When George Bush asked for an economic stimulus bill with virtually no oversight the congressional republicans supported him. When Obama develops a bipartisan stimulus package with benchmarks and oversight built in the congressional republicans tell Obama to go to hell. Shame! - Robert
FROM TRUTHDIG: Even now, Limbaugh remains deaf to the bipartisan appeals of the Obama White House, which has tried, perhaps too hard, to change the tone in Washington. “I never hear Democrats talking about walking across the aisle,” he complained to Hannity. “I never see any of them praise each other or brag about the fact that they do it. They brag about the Republicans that they destroy.”
What all this inane ranting proves is how remote Rush and his imitators are from the urgent concerns of the American public, including not only Democrats and independents but a growing number of Republicans, too.
According to current polling data, the Limbaugh line is potentially perilous for any politician outside a firmly right-leaning district.
As thousands of jobs disappear every week, as the security and aspirations of millions of families evaporate, most Americans hope fervently that the Obama stimulus plan will succeed. They hear nothing from the Republicans except demands for new tax breaks that will chiefly benefit the same privileged people who have made out so well during the past few decades—and who now take taxpayer money and spend millions on private jets and fancy office furniture. Why Limbaugh is the new Bush
The numbers are pretty clear. When this poll was taken last fall, Rush Limbaugh was the second-most toxic figure among likely voters, trailing only George W. Bush in that regard. He was also pretty well-known: Only a quarter of voters have no opinion on him.
