Regarding the ice storm emergency in Kentucky: Righties make baseless attack on FEMA under President Obama!

The righties are making more baseless attacks on Obama. It seems that there is so little they can legitimately criticize they must fabricate things to become irate over. Now the righties are attacking Obama for not helping out white people in Kentucky (Kentucky hit by severe Ice Storm) simply because they are white. EX: See Obama Hates White People @ American Thinker.

The trouble is that Obama’s FEMA has responded to the ice storm in Kentucky quickly and in a big way. Obama’s FEMA began moving food, water and industrial-size emergency generators into the commonwealth Thursday morning. By 1/29, 12 truckloads of water, six truckloads of meals ready-to-eat and 50 industrial-size generators to provide power for critical facilities have moved into the national logistics staging area at Fort Campbell. In addition, FEMA is fulfilling the commonwealth’s requests for fuel and communications equipment.

In fact Gen. John W. Heltzel, director of Kentucky’s Division of Emergency Management has praised Obama’s FEMA response:

“This is an amazing effort and we have worked long hours to move supplies and equipment. Our working partnership with FEMA ensures we are getting excellent help under difficult circumstances for Kentuckians suffering from the winter storm,” said Gen. John W. Heltzel, director of Kentucky’s Division of Emergency Management.

In Kentucky and elsewhere, I am sure FEMA could do a better job. Legitimate criticism is important. However, the effort Obama’s FEMA is making to assist our fellow Americans in Kentucky appears from all reports to have been quick and thorough. If the right really wanted to improve FEMA they would work with the Obama Administration instead of making baseless allegations every chance they get. - Robert
